Working with the North West

The Commissioner for north Wales also works with the North West Police and Crime Commissioners.

The Commissioner is a member of the North West Joint Committee which includes all the commissioners from the North West.  These are – north Wales, Cumbria, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and Lancashire.  The terms of reference for this committee can be viewed here

A Collaboration Service General Agreement has been signed by all Police & Crime Commissioners and Chief Constables of the North West Joint Committee.  To view a copy of the agreement click here 


 

Underwater Search Unit

The unit serves the areas of Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cumbria and North Wales and is staffed by police officers from the six force areas with the overall expenditure being met by each of the policing areas.


 

Cheshire Constabulary and North Wales Police Armed Policing Alliance

In 2014 Cheshire and north Wales entered into a collaboration agreement to create an armed policing alliance.


 

Regional Organised Crime Unit


The unit, known as Titan, serves the areas of Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cumbria and North Wales and exists to increase operational capacity and capability to tackle the organised crime threat in north Wales and the North West through the establishment of a regional task force. Regional Intelligence Unit

The unit serves the areas of Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cumbria and North Wales and plays a key role in tackling cross-border crime both feeding intelligence into action being taken at the regional level, and receiving intelligence from this work to inform future working.


 

Regional Asset Recovery Team

The unit serves the areas of Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cumbria and North Wales and aims to provide focused multi-agency operational capability with responsibility for investigating money laundering and asset recovery. 


 

Forensic Services

A joint forensic services agreement for the collaborative procurement of forensic science services for South West England, Wales and North West England (comprising 14 force areas) is in place.
