The Single Point of Contact (SPoC) Communications Data Unit, a new collaboration by North Wales Police and Cheshire Constabulary, has been established, providing communications data to both forces on a 24/7 rota in the fight against crime.

Today (12/1/23) sees the launch of an independent review into the policing of the Hunting Act in North Wales. The review was ordered in May 2022 by North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Andy Dunbobbin and, while the text highlights that North Wales Police’s actions are consistent with good practice, it also includes a set of recommendations for the Force on how it polices hunting across the region.

On Thursday 5 January, North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Andy Dunbobbin met Councillor Gwennol Ellis, who represents Uwchaled Ward on Conwy County Borough Council, to discuss road safety issues in Glasfryn, Cerrigydrudion and the campaign by local residents to reduce the speed limit on the A5 through the village. The PCC and Cllr Ellis walked the stretch of the road through the village from the Old Post Office Bus Stop to the former Ty’n y Felin School to understand the problems with speeding affecting residents.

The appointment of Alan Jones, Independent Domestic Violence Advisor [IDVA] and Arron Roberts, Children and Young People’s Worker over the past 18 months have been a welcome addition to the team at Gorwel, a service, run by Grwp Cynefin, which operates in Gwynedd and Anglesey providing help and support to people suffering domestic abuse.
